The seamless switching mechanism works by detecting when your cursor reaches a configured screen edge. At that moment, HelloControlDesk transfers keyboard and mouse control to the target machine in milliseconds. You never need to reach for a keyboard shortcut or click a button — just move your mouse naturally.

How it works

Install the server application on the machine whose keyboard and mouse you want to use, and the client application on each other machine (macOS or Windows, up to 5 in total).

Paste your licence token into each application: it is the only thing needed to authenticate a machine, and no account credentials are stored on the device.

In the server application, choose on which side of your main screen each client sits: left, right, top or bottom.

Move the cursor past that edge. Keyboard and mouse control passes to the client, and comes back the same way. The clipboard follows.

A Mac and a PC on the same desk

Keep one keyboard and one mouse in front of you and move between macOS and Windows as if they were two screens of one computer, in either direction.

A development machine and a test machine

Type on the machine you code on, then slide the cursor onto the machine where you run the build or the tests, without swapping keyboards or reaching for a second mouse.

Limits and requirements

All machines must be on the same local network, over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. HelloControlDesk does not work over the internet.
Server and client are available for macOS and Windows. No Linux or BSD version is listed.
One licence covers up to 5 machines for one user; it is not a per-computer licence.
There is no free plan. An account lets you install the applications and test the connection before paying.

Do I need a keyboard shortcut to switch machines?

No. You move the cursor to the edge of the screen and keyboard and mouse control passes to the next machine. There is no hotkey to remember and no button to press.

Does it work between a Mac and a Windows PC?

Yes, in both directions. The server and client applications run on macOS and Windows, so a Mac can control a PC and a PC can control a Mac.

How many computers can one licence control?

Up to 5 machines with a single licence, which is per user rather than per computer. All of them must be on the same local network, over Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

Is the clipboard shared between machines?

Yes. Text copied on one machine can be pasted on another, and clipboard content travels over the same TLS-encrypted local connection as keyboard and mouse input.
